Formation Flight is a timing aid for pilots. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: everything stays on your device, and nothing is collected or transmitted.
Formation Flight uses your device’s GPS while the app is in use to compute distance, bearing, groundspeed, and time to your selected target. Location data is processed in memory on your device and shown to you on screen. It is never stored beyond the current session, never sent to us, and never shared with anyone.
You can withdraw location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Without it the app cannot compute in-flight readouts, but you can still create and edit flights.
Mission names, target coordinates, times on target, hack times, and your unit and tolerance preferences are stored only on your device, in the app’s local database and preferences. Deleting the app deletes them. They are not synced to iCloud or any server.
Formation Flight does not collect analytics, crash reports beyond what Apple provides to developers through the App Store with your consent, advertising identifiers, or any personal information. It contains no third-party SDKs and performs no tracking. The App Store privacy label for Formation Flight is “Data Not Collected”.
Formation Flight is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
